BUSINESSES and a Derby beauty queen have thrown their support behind the Mayor's campaign to raise awareness of a holiday centre for disadvantaged children.
The Mayor, Cllr Sean Marshall, invited representatives from Derby firms on a trip to the Derby Children's Holiday Centre in Skegness, which provides holidays for more than 450 Derbyshire children each year.
From left, Brett Critchley, Simon Dixon, Hannah McCuaig, Mayor Sean Marshall and Benjamin Benn have all pledged their support.
Brett Critchley, managing director of Orchid IT, Benjamin Benn, director of Silver Pride Software, Simon Dixon from Bright Advice and Mrs England 2009 Hannah McCuaig visited the centre to meet the staff and children and find out more about how they could help. They found out how the centre operates and, as a result of the trip, all of the organisations concerned have become involved with the charity.
Orchid is going to provide the home with IT support and help with fund-raising.
Silver Pride will help the centre to develop its website and create an online donation facility.
